Synopsis

Home for Leilah is the fortress lair of her crime lord father; her family the mobsters who terrorise a world from which she is protected. But when she gets a taste of the outside, she realises the real darkness lies not on lawless streets, but deep within herself.

Production

En Passant is a darkly-comic animated musical short. Produced over two years with a shoestring budget, it is the latest piece by award-winning UK director Chris Burton, in collaboration with US songwriter and composer Leeran Raphaely.

More than 40 artists, musicians and actors from around the world have pooled their talents to realise this ambitious, twisted coming-of-age drama. It was screened at festivals around the world, and won two Jerry Goldsmith awards - Best Song and Best Soundtrack for an Animated Film.
